Wayne County's Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW)

BEST WAY DOWNTOWN: Bus

BASICS
Wayne County Airport is located 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Detroit.

The airport's solid Web site includes useful information such as:

TAXI
Follow the signs from the baggage claim to the taxi stand. You can also get a taxi outside the Marriott Hotel, between the D and E concourses. The trip downtown costs around $28 to $32 and it will take 30 to 45 minutes.

BUS
Commuter Transportation (1-800-351-5466) provides van service to all parts of the Detroit metro area and the downtown hotels. Vans depart for downtown from outside the baggage claim area. The fare to downtown is around $20 one-way and $36 round-trip. Commuter Transportation goes to most Detroit area hotels, and the prices are much more reasonable than for a taxi. Buy your ticket at the counter at the baggage claim.

Public transportation takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to downtown Detroit. Buses depart from the airport's lower level and cost $1.75.

RENTAL CAR
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all have counters at the airport.
