BASICS
The airport is located nine miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai.
TAXI
Taxis to the center of Shanghai will cost about 70-90 yuan ($8-$11) and the trip will take about 25 to 40 minutes, sometimes longer. The driver should use the meter, but if it is not working, make sure to agree on the fare before leaving the airport.
HOTEL SHUTTLE
Many major hotels have shuttle buses from the airport. Inquire when you book your room, or go the hotel desks in the arrival hall of the airport.
BUS
There are city buses, including the 505, which goes to Renmin Square, or the 911 to Huaihai Zhonglu. These are not luggage-friendly buses, however. If you're unfamiliar with Shanghai, another means of travel is recommended.
RENTAL CAR
Rental cars are not available, but hotels can arrange a car and driver for your use, which might be advisable.
